Short version: FlowRead doesn't collect, track, or sell your data. Your settings stay on your device. The only thing ever sent anywhere is your license key (if you buy Pro), which is checked against our license server to confirm your subscription. That's it.
The extension keeps a small amount of data in your browser's built-in extension storage (chrome.storage), which syncs across your own Chrome profile if you're signed in:
None of this leaves your browser, with the single exception described below.
If you activate FlowRead Pro, the extension sends your license key to our validation server (a Cloudflare Worker operated by S1 Early Labs), which confirms the key with Gumroad — the payment platform that processed your purchase. The server responds with a simple valid/invalid answer. This check runs when you activate and roughly every 7 days afterward to confirm your subscription is still active.
We do not log, store, or associate this key with any other information on our end. Payment details (name, card, billing address) are handled entirely by Gumroad and never touch FlowRead or our servers.
When you click "Read This Page" or use the right-click "Read selection" option, the extension extracts the article text from the page you're on — entirely on your device — and displays it in the reading panel. Page content is never sent to any server, never stored beyond your current session, and never analyzed by anything other than the local reading engine.
If you choose to submit feedback through our website form, the name, email, and message you provide are delivered to us by our form provider solely so we can read and respond. Submitting feedback is entirely optional.
Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored FlowRead data. To cancel a Pro subscription, use your Gumroad account or the link in your purchase receipt — cancellation stops future validation of your key automatically.
If FlowRead's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised. Material changes will be noted in the extension's changelog.
